Exactly What You Need
SATSANGS
Our Sunday Service (Satsang) at Bhagwan Valmik Sabha Bedford takes place every week between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm. Readings from our holy scriptures the YOG VISHISTHA are shared to encourage the teachings and philosophies of Bhagwan Valmik Ji.
Bhajans (songs) from both our in-house and invited musicians are performed followed by food (langar) from 1.00 pm until 3.00 pm in our dining hall.
ALL OCCASIONS
Satsangs can be booked for every occasion including newborns, birthdays, weddings, and anniversaries.
READING OF HOLY SCRIPTURES
Appropriate readings are taken from the YOG VISHISTHA to celebrate or commemorate family events.
DEVOTIONAL SONGS
Bhajans (songs) and thanksgiving prayers are followed by Aarti (prayer).
LANGAR/FOOD
Vegetarian food is offered in the langar hall to all who wish to partake, served by our dedicated volunteers. The food is prepared freshly every Sunday with ingredients all sourced locally.
WEDDINGS
We offer a full religious service including our own registrars and a langar hall for food and refreshments on arrival. The mandirs’ facilities are available for your personal themes and decoration. We’re happy to discuss any additional requirements to that are suited to your day. Parking for the wedding close family is available with prior notice.
CEREMONY
A traditional wedding ceremony is followed by the signing of the Marriage Certificate by our own licensed Registrar.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Wedding parties can also supply their own decorations to personalise the venue. We are happy to discuss any additional requirements.
PRAYER AND BLESSINGS
Prayers and blessings are specifically selected for the happy couple.
PHOTOGRAPHY
Photos and videos are permitted in and outside the mandir. Official photographers on the day will take priority in coordinating the shoot.
CELEBRATIONS
Cake cutting ceremonies take place in the mandir prayer hall at 1.00pm and should not take longer than 15 minutes, during which time photos and videos can be taken. We politely request that at this time only one family member offers cake to the celebrant due to time constraints.

CAKE SHARING
Following the cake rasum, the celebration can then continue in the langar hall, where the cake can then be shared out, either by family members or kitchen volunteers.
CEREMONY
The celebratory Satsang will include bhajans and religious readings from the Yoga Vasistha, followed by a thanksgiving prayer, Aarti and the serving of prashaad.
LANGAR
After the religious service, food is served in our community dining hall by our invaluable kitchen volunteers.
FUNERALS
We offer full use the Mandir including use of the langar (food) hall for tea, food and refreshments. BVS work in partnership with all funeral directors and authorities to allow a respectful service. The cremation takes places at the Crematorium at 104 Norse Road Bedford, MK41 0RL.
FUNERAL RITES
Full religious rites are offered to the family including open casket. Personal requirements for the service can be discussed with the BVS.
LANGAR
After the Mandir service has been carried out and tributes have been paid, Langar (food) is arranged for all who attend the service.
ARRANGEMENTS
Bedford has a serene setting suitable for scattering ashes in flowing waters along the River Great Ouse, near Priory Country Park. Please ask the BVS for more information regarding the scattering of ashes in the restful waters of our home town.

Our community hall is a separate facility with full kitchen facilities and utensils. We also have a disabled toilet and full wheelchair access. The community hall is available for all daytime celebrations and community groups/meetings.
Where the facility is hired for classes involving physical activities (e.g. aerobics, yoga, henna parties, face painting, etc.) the organiser must provide evidence of public liability insurance certification. For external celebrations, tables. chairs and kitchen utensils may also be hired. Capacity 50 people max seated. 70 people max standing.
